Dot Mobi officials issued a retraction of its earlier press release announcing Sedo’s record sales.

“We are advised by dotMobi that journalists and other readers should disregard the news release, Third .mobi 'Premium Domain Name' Online Auction Shatters Existing Price Records, issued December 10th over PR Newswire, as the release was issued prematurely.”

This could mean a legal battle is brewing over the auction’s fiasco, which we discussed in an earlier post. Or it could mean the buyers backed out. I am sure we will see more on this shortly.
